Before operating the firm, he served as Controller for a large group of closely held companies, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and system implementation. His background also includes years as a Certified Public Accountant with both regional and international firms, where he specialized in audit and tax services for clients in industries ranging from construction and retail to professional services and commercial fishing.
At Matherly Associates, David provides hands-on controllership and strategic guidance to clients, drawing on decades of experience to deliver reliable, practical financial solutions.

Dale brings more than 35 years of experience in business management, accounting, and operational leadership. As the founding principal of Matherly Associates (formerly Business Support Services), she has worked with a wide range of clients to develop efficient systems for accounting, compliance, and day-to-day management.
Dale’s expertise is in supporting company operations, product development, and compliance initiatives. Her background in both financial management and business operations allows her to provide clients with thoughtful, practical solutions that balance accuracy, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Laura brings over 15 years of experience in operational accounting, compliance, and financial leadership. Her background includes financial statement audits across a variety of industries, oversight of compliance engagements, and management of professional teams.
Transitioning into a director role in the nonprofit sector, Laura gained hands-on experience with the full operational cycle—working collaboratively across departments to establish strong processes, procedures, and quality financial reporting.
Laura began her accounting career at Matherly Associates while completing her degree and has returned to the firm after a decade in the public and private sectors, bringing a broad and balanced perspective to our clients.
Today, she leads accounting and compliance services with a focus on clarity, collaboration, and building strong financial systems that help organizations operate with confidence.
